This episode makes it quite clear that there's someone inside Aerial but whether she's Eri, we can only guess. At first, I thought Suletta just talk to Aerial one-sidedly but now I'm pretty sure that she can really converse with her and whoever inside Aerial has been supporting Suletta all along.

FYI: If you wonder why Nika's voice has changed, that's because her VA - Yume Miyamoto - is going on a brief hiatus due to health and she was replaced by Haruka Shiraishi. Yume Miyamoto is well known from her role as Rika Takarada from SSSS. Gridman.

Regardless, Aerial can't be Eri, because Eri is Suletta. That's not debatable, thanks to the short story set between the prologue and start of the main series.

The time line they discussed the previous two episodes doesn't make sense. She was 4 years old in the prologue and 17 now. However, they said in episode six that the prologue happened 21 years ago.

They might be referencing something that happened before the prologue, or it could be a translation/continuity error.

They dont specifically mentioned that the incident 21 years ago is the prologue incident. In fact, it cant be the same incident since only Eri and her mom survived the prologue. Their base was totally destroyed as seen at the end of the prologue, which means that Belmeria Winston is not at the base at the time of the prologue cause otherwise she wouldn't be at the academy now.

My guess is that the incident 21 years ago is when the vanadis was acquired by ochs earth corporation and have to change their focus from developing medical technology to making gundam as weapon, which over the years finally led to the attack on the prologue.

You're making the assumption that what was shown in the prologue is the same thing as what happened 21 years ago. Something major needs to already have happened for the Gund Format to be viewed the way it already was when the prologue started. We know nothing concrete beyond that, and anything else is speculation.

You know, I've been wondering for a while now what exactly is that helmet Prospera has been wearing on her head. Is it possible that she's the one inside of Aerial? It would make a bit of sense to me if she's the real "witch" and that is why Suletta hasn't experienced any of the health problems piloting a gundam.

The helmet is a disguise, MAYBE something she sometimes needs from her time on Mercury. Nothing more. Suletta is able to pilot with no repercussions because she grew up doing it, ever since she was 5.

That sounds very similar to Char's excuse for wearing a helmet.

The term "witch" refers to anyone who pilot gundam, its not for a specific person. There is no "real" witch, cause everyone could be called a witch if they pilot gundam.

Less shown and more implied but yeah. GUND format seems to be a more cybernetic version of the transhumanist themes Gundam likes to explore. It wouldn't surprise me that to get around that whole "pilot strain" problem they developed a super advanced AI to lower the burden on the pilot with predictive algorithms. We already know mobile suit AIs are advanced enough to basically pilot themselves from the 2nd battle with Formerly-Rich-Boy so it's not a big stretch.

After that it's just a matter of establishing a proper neural link with the AI which we saw being tested in episode 0.

There's a short story from Aerials POV that pretty much confirms "she" is sentient. It's called "Cradle Planet" and has an official english translation on the Gundam info site for the Witch of Mercury anime. It's written by the writer of the show and takes place between the prologue and the anime.
